Advent - Day 14

Jesus - Man of Sorrows

Isaiah 53:3

KJV - He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

NLT - He was despised and rejected—
a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief.
We turned our backs on him and looked the other way.
He was despised, and we did not care.

Knowing we are the cause of His grief & suffering,
does this verse bruise your heart as much as it does mine?

Matthew Henry's commentary of Isaiah 53:3 via ChristNotes is worth a read today.

What does Jesus, Man of Sorrows, mean to you?
