Luke 24:19
KJV - And He said unto them, What things? And they said unto Him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:
“The things that happened to Jesus, the man from Nazareth,” they said. “He was a prophet who did powerful miracles, and He was a mighty teacher in the eyes of God and all the people.
προφήτης
"Prophet" in this verse of Luke, is speaking of Jesus as a man filled with the Spirit of God, who by God's authority and command in words of weight pleads the cause of God and urges salvation of men.
The roots of this Greek word are:
"pro" in front of, prior to:—above, ago, before, or ever.
"phēmi" to declare; also the same as an obsolete word "phōs" meaning the light
